Refugio Avenges Last Year's Loss, Upsets #1 East Bernard (Post Included)

SAN ANTONIO (Kiii Sports) - The Refugio Bobcats had been waiting all year for their rematch with #1 East Bernard, and when they got it they used a late comeback to win 40-34.

Senior Quarterback Travis Quintanilla had a bad first half, throwing for four interceptions. The second half was a different story however as Quintanilla tossed two touchdowns before Isaiah Perez ran it in with two minutes to go to give the Bobcats the 40-34 lead.

The Bobcats' defense came up huge, with Les Rhodes getting an interception to set up the go ahead score. The 'D' also stopped the Brahmas on 4th and 6 with under a minute to go to seal the win.

Dana Franklin was big on offense, reeling in three touchdown catches.

The ninth-ranked Bobcats will now face Waskom in the 2A-Division II State Semifinals, with the game's time and location to be determined.
