2008 Catholic Schools for Tomorrow Innovations in Education Award
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Incarnate Word Academy (IWA) Elementary School.
Through the selfless efforts of giving parents, the Incarnate Word Academy Elementary Level Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Program has been named as one of the 12 schools in the nation to receive a 2008 Catholic Schools for Tomorrow Innovations in Education Award given by Today's Catholic Teacher.
This prestigious award was given by the annual National Catholic Education Association Convention in Indianapolis on March 26 for an innovative project in promoting Catholic identity.
You are cordially invited to attend a very special Mass on Wednesday, April 16 at 8:30 a.m. in the IWA Convent Chapel. This Mass will honor the six wonderful women who run the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Program: Renee Cooper, Amy Fischer, Ann Lippincott, Catherine Lovoi, Sandra McCutchon, and Amy Nash. After the Mass there will be an Open House at the Good Shepherd Atrium and refreshments in the Alameda Complex Board Room (3002 Alameda) from 10:00 am to 11:30 a.m.

Incarnate Word Academy, established in Corpus Christi in 1871, is owned and operated by the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament. It provides education to students from throughout the greater Corpus Christi Community starting at 3 years of age to grade 12. With a current enrollment of approximately 902 students, the campus includes three educational levels - elementary, middle and high school.
