The Reverend Greg Hackett has been appointed by the Bishop Joel Martinez of the Southwest Texas Annual Conference as the new Senior Pastor of First United Methodist Church, 900 S. Shoreline Blvd. in Corpus Christi.  Reverend Hackett, his wife Sally, and sons Ben & Colin were welcomed on Sunday morning, June 15 with a reception and with a worship service highlighted with a celebration of his appointment led by church Lay Leader, Fay Crider and Staff-Parish Relations Committee Chair, Mark Meyer.  Reverend Hackett, a native of Iowa, has served churches in Victoria, Harlingen, Gonzales and most recently at Windcrest United Methodist Church in San Antonio. 
 
Reverend Hackett will preach in the 8:30 and 10:50 am sanctuary services this Sunday, June 22 with the sermon, "The Immaculate Interception" with a text from Genesis 22:1-14.
