THIS IS A RELEASE FROM THE CATHEDRAL YOUTH CHOIRS:

Cathedral Youth Choirs to inaugurate Our Nations Capitol July 4th Parade in front of the White House
Washington, D.C. next week!

Corpus Christi - The Cathedral Youth Choirs have again received another honorary invitation. They have been asked to sing and serve as the main choir for our nations capitol July 4th Parade. This monumental event will take place in front of the White House to begin the parade singing “A Salute to the Armed Forces” and a world première of a new arrangement of “America the Beautiful” by Eugene Gwozdz.

Lee Gwozdz was also chosen to conduct the massed choirs from all over the nation and Canada for this event. During that time, the choir will be a part of the American Festival of the American Federation of Pueri Cantores to be held at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

A special Mass involving over 600 invited singers from the United States and Canada will take place at the Shrine July 5th. Truly another singular honor, this will be the first time a Youth Choir from Texas has participated in this distinguished festival. In addition to singing at the Festival, the choir will also sing at the National Cathedral and St. Matthew’s Cathedral in the heart of Washington, D.C. Representing our city, the state of Texas, and the Diocese of Corpus Christi, their appearance at all of these events will certainly showcase Corpus Christi talent on the national map from the beautiful voices of the Cathedral Youth Choirs.

Recognized by His Holiness Pope John Paul II and the National Council of Catholic Bishops as one of the finest Catholic Music Programs in the United States, the Cathedral Youth Chorale and Choristers is a choral ensemble of ninety dedicated singers, grades 4 –12, who attend both public and private schools throughout the Coastal Bend area. These talented students commit over four hours per week, consisting of rehearsals and singing at the 12:30pm Mass every Sunday at Corpus Christi Cathedral.
