RE: FALL KICK-OFF SUNDAY CELEBRATION
Members of Corpus Christi’s First United Methodist Church will celebrate the start of their fall program this Sunday, August 24 will a combined worship celebration at 10:50 am in the sanctuary of the church, 900 S. Shoreline Dr. Centered around the theme “Start Your Engines…..Driven by the Holy Spirit” the celebration will feature displays of vintage cars, race vehicles as well as an ambulance, a fire truck and a trolley. These items will be on display on the Furmann Street side of the church. The church’s new Senior Pastor, Reverend Greg Hackett will bring the morning message entitled, “Revving or Running?” Music will be led by the Chancel Choir, For Your Inspiriation Youth Choir and CrossTide. Ample parking is available in the church’s lots and shuttle service being provided by golf carts for those who might need assistance. Sunday School will be at 9:30 am. Following the worship service a complimentary meal of hot dogs and hamburgers will be served in the church gym. Displays of all the church’s ministries will be set up in the hallways.
Brad Kisner, the church’s Director of Music and Fine Arts states, “This day of celebration for our community from will highlight all of the many ministries of the first church in Corpus Christi, still in ministry 155 years later.
