COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - Some Texas A&M University faculty senate members want sexual orientation and gender identity to be added to the anti-discrimination policy for the entire A&M system.
     
The senate on Monday discussed the idea of asking regents to OK the nonbinding resolution, but no possible action will be taken until October, the Bryan-College Station Eagle reported Tuesday.
    
Current policy calls for "equal opportunity to all employees, students, applicants for employment, and the public regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age or veteran status."
     
Sexual orientation and gender identity are already protected on the flagship campus in College Station, but some senate members want them added for the other 10 campuses in the system.
