Robbery Suspects Arrested After Approaching Police for Directions

Two men were arrested Tuesday night for allegedly robbing a 23-year old male in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 1300 block of N. Alameda Street.

According to police, it was shortly after 10 p.m. when the 23-year old victim was approached by the two men while sitting his truck at the apartment complex. The men offered to sell him CDs and marijuana, and when the victim refused, one of the suspects began to strangle him.

The suspect then produced a handgun and demanded that the victim get out of his truck. The victim was knocked to the ground, and the suspects reached into his pockets and stole money from him.

After the robbery, the victim went to a convenience store in the 700 block of N. Staples Street and called the police. Police arrived to the gas station, and while talking with the victim, the two suspects approached and asked the officers for directions to different places around town. Police said the suspects were circling around the officers and the victim.

When police asked the suspects to leave, the victim said the two men were the ones who robbed him. Officers then arrested 27-year old David James and 23-year old Lorris Puckett for aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.
