Rollover Accident Blocks Westbound Lanes on SPID

Three people were transported to the hospital following a rollover accident on the westbound side of SPID, between Staples Everhart, Tuesday morning. The accident left quite a mess.

It was just after 11 a.m. when a Borden milk truck driving west on SPID spotted a stalled vehicle on the side of the freeway up ahead. The driver tried to change lanes to avoid the stalled car and ended up crashing into a white car. The impact caused the milk truck to roll over on its side, spilling cartons of milk on the roadway.

Two passengers in the white vehicle were transported to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital following the accident. One of them was reportedly injured in the impact. The driver of the milk truck was also transported to Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Westbound traffic on SPID was diverted to the access road through the Staples off-ramp as crews worked to clear the scene. Police reported that the freeway was reopened at around noon.
