Rollover on Highway 181 South Shuts Down Traffic for a Short Time

Southbound Highway 181 in Portland was shut down to one lane for a little over an hour after a tow truck hauling a Ford pickup rolled over on its side just after 1 p.m. Monday.

According to police, the tow truck's axle broke, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and roll over. Part of the axle that broke off came loose and struck another vehicle, but there were no injuries from the accident.

After a little over an hour, crews were able to clear the scene and southbound Highway 181 was reopened to traffic.
