Sam Houston Teachers Celebrate Grease-Themed Appreciation Week

This week, teachers across the state of Texas are getting some extra thanks from their students as Texas educators celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week.

The staff at Sam Houston Elementary are going back in time to celebrate -- all the way back to the 1950s. They're celebrating with a Grease-themed week.

As many of you may already know, the lead characters in the hit musical are named Danny and Sandy, and it just so happens that the principal and assistant principal at the school are also named Danny and Sandy.

On Tuesday morning, teachers were treated to authentic root beer floats. They will be treated to boxed candy on Wednesday, burgers and fries after school Thursday, and administrators will also be taking their teachers to the bowling alley for some old fashioned fun on the lanes.
