San Antonio Man Suspected of Killing Band Member Appears in Court

Christopher Garza, the San Antonio man suspected of murdering a member of his rap group, the Hooligan Boyz, appeared in the 214th District Court Monday morning.

Garza's bond was set at $200,000, and area bonding companies have rejected his bond. The suspect, appearing emotional before the judge, said that he does not have an attorney yet but will get his own.

Garza is suspected of killing his bandmate, 31-year old Miguel Silva. Silva was found unresponsive just before 4:30 a.m. Saturday at the Embassy Suites on SPID. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Hooligan Boyz were in town to perform at Club XS Friday night.
