Second Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtle Nest of the Year Discovered

The second Kemp's Ridley sea turtle nest of this year's nesting season was discovered Monday morning at the Padre Island National Seashore.

The nest was found about 17 miles from the first nest that was discovered, which was found on Sunday. The turtle eggs are expected to hatch in mid-June.

Officials at the Padre Island National Seashore want to remind everyone that, if you find a turtle nesting area, do not touch them. Instead, call the National Seashore and they will gather the eggs and take them to safety.
