Services Held for Well-Known Businessman Benjamin Mustafa

Family, friends and community members came together Wednesday evening to remember 59-year old Benjamin Mustafa, the victim of this city's latest homicide.

A memorial was held for the beloved and well-known businessman, who was fatally shot last week at the Tim's Market on Ayers Street. Services took place at the Bay Area Fellowship on Rodd Field Road.

Kiii News Reporter Bill Churchwell went Live from the memorial services with more information.

To many, he was simply known as Ben, or Benjamin, and he was known for his generous acts of kindness.

You might recall, many people gathered for a candlelight vigil in front of the Tim's Market, where Mustafa was shot and killed during an attempted armed robbery. His death sent shockwaves throughout the entire community, sparking emotions of sorrow and anger.

At that vigil, community members called for and end to violence in this city.

Several people were slated to speak during Mustafa's memorial services, including former state representative and family friend Hugo Berlanga, who said there is no question that he is going to miss his friend.
