Several Outages Around South Texas Due to Winter Blast

As you can imagine, last night's winter blast had a significant effect on power lines leading to several outages around South Texas.

According to American Electric Power Texas, over 20,000 people were without power ranging from Victoria to the Valley.

In Padre Island, overloaded circuits left 3,400 customers in the dark for a brief period. Here in Corpus Christi, in the Yorktown area, tree limbs caused a power outage that left over 500 people without power; and at one point, Bee County had 1,200 people without power.

At last report, just over 200 people in Bee County were waiting to get their power restored. As for the rest of the area, power has been fully restored.
