Severely Dehydrated Illegal Immigrant Rescued in Brooks County

An illegal immigrant found in Brooks County is now recovering after nearly losing his life battling the stifling South Texas heat. He was found and rescued by the U.S. Border Patrol.

The immigrant sounded off a distress beacon Monday afternoon. When Border Patrol agents found the man, he was severely dehydrated. Agents performed first aid techniques to lower the man's core body temperature.

The man was transported to a hospital in Kingsville, where he continues to recover.
