Single Mother of Four Burned Out of Her Home Seeks Help

A family of five was burned out of their home Monday and given temporary housing at a local motel, but they could be out on the street by Wednesday morning.

The fire, which broke out just after 2:30 a.m. Monday at the Treyway Terrace Apartments on Holly, destroyed everything the Garcia family owned, and killed two of the family's pet dogs.

Now, the single mother of four is hoping the community can help her. Kiii News Anchor Rudy Trevino spoke with her Tuesday and came back with the details.

If you would like to offer the Garcia's a helping hand, you can call them at 361-533-9634. The family is not looking for luxuries, but rather necessities for her children, who range in age from three-14.
