Sixth Human Case of West Nile in Nueces County Confirmed

A sixth human case of West Nile virus has been confirmed in Nueces County.

The Public Health District confirmed that a woman between the ages of 70-80 has been released from the hospital and is now home recovering.

A total of 59 people have died from West Nile in Texas this year so far, one of which was from Nueces County.

Also, a pool of mosquitos in the 400 block of Bartlett Street has come back positive with the virus once again. This is the sixth time pools from that area have come back positive.

Vector Control crews sprayed the area on Monday night, and will spray again Tuesday and Wednesday nights if weather permits.
