Slick Roads, Unsafe Speeds Cause Driver to Hit Palm Tree

Slick roads were to blame when a car carrying a family of four slammed into a palm tree just before lunchtime at the 3300 block of the Crosstown Expressway.

Police said the 21-year old driver was traveling at an unsafe speed for Thursday's road conditions, which resulted in her losing control and hitting a palm tree.

According to police, the two adults in the vehicle suffered minor injuries but were not sent to the hospital. The two children were okay.

The driver was cited for failure to control speed.
