Star Football Player from Refugio High School Arrested for DWI

Travis Quintanilla, the 19-year old star quarterback and pitcher for the Refugio Bobcats, was arrested for DWI early Tuesday morning, a day after his birthday. He was booked into the Refugio County Jail at around 3 a.m. Tuesday, and posted bail, which was set at $3,000.

Both the Refugio County sheriff and police chief had no comment on Quintanilla's arrest.

Last week, Quintanilla pitched a no-hitter against the Natalia Mustangs, and a year ago, he broke several all-time records in Texas high school football.

In his junior year, Quintanilla threw 10 touchdown passes in a single game. He passed for 5,557 yards and 68 touchdowns as a senior, and finished his career by passing for 14,223 yards and 186 touchdowns, all of which are all-time state records.
