Students Take Part in the Coastal Bend Championship Chess Tournament

Students tried to put their opponents in check Saturday at Incarnate Word Academy. More than one hundred area students competed in the Coastal Bend Championship Chess Tournament. Organizers say the board game helps students develop skills they'll use later on in life. IWA's elementary level hosted the tournament which included participants from kindergarten through 12th grade.
