Suspects in Shooting of Off-Duty Border Patrol Agent Booked Into Jail

The two men accused of fatally shooting an off-duty U.S. Border Patrol agent and wounding his father were booked into jail Tuesday.

Two Mexican nationals, 30-year old Gustavo Tijerina of La Villa, Texas and 40-year old Ismael Vallejo of Weslaco, Texas, allegedly shot and killed Border Patrol Agent Javier Vega Sunday. Vega was on a family fishing trip in Willacy County.

Vega's father was also shot and is currently recovering from a wound to his hip.

Tijerina and Vallejo now face a slew of charges, including capital murder.
