SWAT Called in During Drug Raid Near Kostoryz, Holly Area

The Corpus Christi Police Department's SWAT Team showed up at the 5300 block of Alaniz, near Kostoryz and Holly, for a drug bust Thursday night.

CCPD Captain Dave Cook is in charge of the Narcotics Vice Division and said that SWAT officers were called in because of the risk factor, but they quickly turned the scene over to narcotics and vice agents because no one was home at the time of the raid.

However, shortly afterward, the target of the investigation showed up. That man was placed in the back of a police car, but has not been arrested.

According to Cook, the drug raid was part of an ongoing drug investigation that the CCPD is working on.

"This is related to an ongoing narcotics investigation where we made some purchases, and we were looking for any drugs, any paraphernalia, and evidence," Cook said.

Police said they had made a traffic stop for someone who had just left the home on Alaniz, but again, there was no arrest.
