Tattoo by the Bay Convention at Emerald Beach Hotel this Weekend

If you love ink, or are just curious about it, then you might want to head over to the Emerald Beach Hotel on Shoreline Boulevard to check out some of the coolest tats.

At one time, it was just sailors who got tattoos, but now everyone from doctors to Hollywood stars get inked. Ronald Urbanec and his wife started the Tattoo by the Bay convention some six years ago, and there has been a great response from vendors. They are ready for the crowds to show up this weekend.

"We just enjoy bringing something like this to Corpus," Urbanec said. "Bringing some life into the city. Letting people know that tattoos aren't a bad thing."

"This is it. You're going to see all kinds of art," tattoo extraordinaire Enigma said. "These are all the nerdy kids drawing in school. You can kick 'em all, all at once, right here."

Admission to the convention costs $10, and it will take place through Sunday night at 8 p.m.
