Texas AgXchange Kicks Off in Robstown

As many as 4,000 farmers and ranchers from all over South Texas were in Robstown Thursday for the kickoff of the two-day Texas AgXchange farm and ranch show.

They were there to learn more about the latest technology advancements in the farm and ranch industry.

The event is being held at the Richard Borchard Fairgrounds in Robstown. More than 200 indoor exhibits are on display with 20 acres of land set aside for field demonstrations.

"It's amazing. It's an amazingly complex industry now. GPS system-precision agriculture," said Greg Geisler, CEO of Vertical Exchange. "To be in farming now, you have to be a sophisticated person and really know how to use technology."

Companies from all over the country are showing off the latest gear for farmers and ranchers, but organizers said anyone is invited to attend. If you didn't get a chance to make it out on Thursday, there is still an opportunity to check out the farm and ranch show. The event will run through Friday.
