Texas Folklife Presents the Big Squeeze Accordion Contest Sunday

Whether you play Conjunto, Tejano or Polka style accordion music and you are 21 years or younger Sunday is your day to shine.

The Texas Folklife hosts the Big Squeeze Accordion Contest this Sunday at the McDonald Library at 2 p.m.

It is free to sign up and compete, and if you win you can go onto the statewide competition in April where you can win up to $4,000 and a brand new accordion.

The non-profit is inviting those under 21 years old to compete because they are encouraging the younger generation to preserve the accordion legacy that musicians like the talented Chano Cadena have created.
