Texas Graduation Rates Up for Sixth Consecutive Year

The Texas Education Agency announced Tuesday that the Texas high school graduation rate was at 88-percent for the class of 2013 -- up for the sixth consecutive year.

As for local school districts, those above the state average included Tuloso-Midway Independent School District at 99-percent; Calallen ISD at 95.2-percent; Flour Bluff ISD at 94.9-percent; and Gregory-Portland ISD at 90.4-percent. West Oso ISD was right at the state average at 85.7-percent.

The Corpus Christi Independent School District was in the below average group with a 2013 graduation rate of 83.8-percent, slightly down from the year before. Beeville ISD was at 85.7-percent, Robstown ISD at 76-percent, Kingsville ISD at 72.6-percent and Alice ISD at 72.5-percent.
