Therapy Dog Goes Missing, Scared Off by Fireworks

Roxy, a Golden Retriever who is specially trained to assist in rehabilitating people, has gone missing in the Flour Bluff area.  Roxy went missing last night from her home near Flour Bluff High School when she was startled by the sound of fireworks.
Christine Martin rescued Roxy about seven years ago from a no-kill shelter.
Martin and her dog have even been featured on our Someone to Know series here on 3News.
Martin has certified the retriever mix through the "Love on a Leash" Therapy Program and started bringing her to schools and libraries to encourage students to read out loud.
Her owner is pleading with the community, if you see her, to bring her home.
Martin said, "she's specifically trained to do therapy and she's hand signal trained and she's an awesome dog and she knows my commands and we need her back to continue her service."
There is a reward being offered.  If you have seen Roxy, call 361-563-5504
