Thousands Gather for Vattman Thanksgiving Dinner in Riviera

The Riviera community celebrated this Thanksgiving while helping out the Our Lady of Consolation Church by attending the 100th annual Vattman Thanksgiving Dinner.

The event is the one and only fundraiser that helps the church financially. Organizers said they have held the even every year, with the exception of one.

"It wasn't done one year during World War II because of food rationing, and so we didn't have it one year," organizer Ronnie Unterbrink said.

The church expected over 2,000 people to show up, and in their anticipation, they held various games and activities.
