Three Arrests Made in Rash of Duval County Burglaries

The Duval County Sheriff's Office has arrested three people for a rash of burglaries that took place there last month.

The Sheriff's Office said the suspects stole more than $50,000 worth of items last month. The items included televisions, firearms, ammunition, power generators, air compressors, ATV's and lots of other hunting equipment.

Investigators said some 11 homes and storage facilities were burglarized. Most of those were hunting cabins.

The Sheriff's Office said one of the challenges they faced in the investigation was the inability of gun owners to provide investigators with serial numbers.

"We want to stress out to the public, to the citizens of the community of Duval, also to the citizens of the community of South Texas, it is imperative that you write your serial numbers down, because down the line it will help you help us get your things back if they're ever stolen," Sgt. Alan Gonzalez said.

Gabriel Hernandez, 25, Rodolfo Perales, 20, Kimberly Thompson, 22, face theft and burglary charges.
