Three Children Hospitalized After Accident at Staples, Wooldridge

Three young children were sent to the hospital after the car they were riding in was struck from behind by a sport utility vehicle just before 9 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Staples and Wooldridge.

Police said the impact sent the car into the old Wings 'N More parking lot. Three ambulances had to be dispatched to take an 11-year old girl along with younger brothers to the hospital.

"The three children were transported to Driscoll Hospital," said Officer Travis Pace of the Corpus Christi Police Department. "The 11-year old had the most serious injuries, with some facial injuries."

Investigators said that at this time, no charges have been filed and no citations have been issued.
