Three People Hospitalized After Accident on Highway 77

Three people were hospitalized after an early morning accident Thursday on Highway 77, between Robstown and Driscoll.

The accident happened just after 7 a.m. Department of Public Safety troopers said a blue four-door sedan struck the left side of a tractor trailer. Two of the victims were taken to the hospital by HALO Flight, and one was transported by EMS.

"The passenger car behind me veered off the road and came up on the left side of the road, that was traveling northbound and swiped it," DPS Trooper Marco Everett said. "It caused extensive damage to the car and then it veered off the side of the road."

Investigators said fatigue and low visibility played a role in the crash.
