The August Hero of the Month over at Driscoll Children's Hospital is Ana Leeza Olivo.

This 7 year old, a former beauty pageant queen, has gone through eight surgeries since April 9th. That's when she was in a terrible car accident on I-37. In fact, Ana didn't see her mom or dad for more than 2 months. Both her parents were also critically injured in that same accident.

Daniel Olivo, Ana's father said, "She just stared at me, and she said Daddy, and we hugged and we reunited really nice, and she missed me forever."

Diana Olivo, Ana's mother said, "Her being brave through this whole ordeal, and strong, and my mother stayed with her 24/7. She's my angel. I don't know what I would have done with out her."

Ana was honored with the Kid's Wish Network's Hero of the Month program on the 7th floor of the hospital. It's a place where she's spent a lot of time. She received a Wal-Mart gift certificate , a t-shirt, and that gold medal.

Ana said, "Kids Wish Network, where dreams do really come true."
