A new addition to Catholic education, in Corpus Christi. John Paul II High School and Bishop Garriga middle school now have a new president. His name is Reverend Peter Marsalek.  Father Peter is originally from Canada, but has worked in Corpus Christi since 2007.

The need for a president comes from the fact that enrollment at both schools has skyrocketed and teachers, administration, and staff are being stretched beyond their job description says Father Peter, "By appointing a president, I will be able to take on the development and PR duties of the school, and allow the principal to be a principal, and the chaplain to be a chaplain, etc, so I think that will be one of the primary benefits that we'll see."

The bishop of the Diocese of Corpus Christi Edmund Carmody attended today's welcome ceremony.

City and county dignitaries were also there and of course, students from both the middle And high school.
