Traffic Precautions for Fourth of July Celebrations

There are going to be a few surprises concerning the traffic patterns for the City's Fourth of July Celebration. One involves trying to cut down on Harbor Bridge accidents by closing off one of its exit ramps.

The Fourth of July ranks among the deadliest for motorist. Last year alone, here in the state of Texas there were 133 alcohol related accidents during the holiday.

Around the state, this will be a no refusal Independence Day weekend. To help get their message across, the Texas Department of Transportation has created a campaign called the Faces of Drunk Driving, in which those who have been impacted by drunk driving share their stories as a warning to others.

The campaign is supported by Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
