Training Begins for the 73rd Corpus Christi Police Academy

The training of a new class of future police officers began Monday as the 73rd Corpus Christi Police Department Academy got underway.

Classes began at the CCPD substation on Corona Drive.

"It is certainly rewarding to see cadets on the first day come in excited and nervous and a bit confused, and then see the transformation into police officers," CCPD Captain Ed Shannon said.

It will take 29 weeks for the cadets to finish the Academy.
