Two Arrested for Threatening Witnesses in Aransas Pass Murder Case

Aransas Pass detectives have arrested two men in connection with a high-profile murder case involving a 16-year old girl who was killed in June of 2012.

Investigators say 20-year old Joshua Davis and 22-year old John Johnson physically threatened witnesses testifying against defendant Lawrence Mireles. According to Aransas Pass police, both are suspected members of a known white supremacist gang in the area.

Mireles is accused of murdering 16-year old Jenna Hernandez from Aransas Pass. Her body was found near Redfish Bay in June. A witness said Mireles confessed to shooting Hernandez while drunk and on Xanax at the time.

Mireles' trial was set to begin on Oct. 29. If convicted, Mireles could face life in prison.

Meanwhile, both Davis and Johnson face obstruction and retaliation charges. They are being held in lieu of $250,000.
