Two Arrested in Morning Drug Raid on City's Southside

Police discovered what they say is a significant amount of illegal drugs during a raid at a home at the corner of Fire Creek and La Costa in the city's southside Friday morning.

It was the second drug raid at a home in Corpus Christi this week. The Corpus Christi Police Department SWAT Team surrounded the house, which turned out to be the home of the alleged drug dealers' mother.

Once inside, police found a wide variety of illegal drugs, including cocaine, hyroponic and synthetic marijuana. Investigators said two brothers had been dealing from the home for some time.

"They live here. They live at this house," CCPD Captain David Cook said. "They live with their mother, and so I don't know who the house belongs to, but we will know more about that as our investigation continues."

Along with the two suspects' mother, there were children in the home at the time of the raid. Paramedics were called to the scene to check the mother's blood pressure.

Both men, 24-year old Guadalupe Garza and 31-year old Arnold Flores, were arrested for possession, manufacturing and distribution.
