Two Consecutive Busts Yield 3,500 Pounds of Pot at Sarita Checkpoint

Two drug busts in two consecutive days at the Sarita, Texas, border checkpoint have yielded a total of 3,500 pounds of marijuana.

The first bust happened on Wednesday when drug dogs alerted U.S. Border Patrol agents as they were searching a tractor trailer passing through the checkpoint. They found 1,700 pounds of marijuana inside of that trailer.

Then, on Thursday morning the dogs helped agents locate an additional 1,800 pounds of marijuana inside of another tractor trailer passing through the checkpoint.
