Two Firefighters Hospitalized Following Ship Fire

Two Corpus Christi Firefighters were transported to the hospital following a fire aboard a vessel that was docked at Cargo Dock 9 on the Inner Harbor of the Port Corpus Christi. The fire sparked up around 2:40 PM. Crew members were welding and caught timbers on fire. It took fire crews almost two hours to get the blaze fully under control. One Corpus Christi Firefighter was transported to a hospital in San Antonio after he inhaled some gases on board the ship. A second Firefighter was transported to Christus Spohn Memorial for observation.
