Two Teen Murder Suspects Being Held on $100,000 Bonds

Two teen murder suspects are now in jail after CCPD received a tip that the pair might be here in Corpus Christi.

The suspects are wanted in connection with a murder out in Comal County, just north of the New Braunfels area.

Kirk Stowers with CCPD told 3 News, "the officers were told to look for a white Lexus the officers showed up in this area and they saw a white Lexus they got behind it and it turned out to be reported stolen out of

Comal County."

The officer followed the Lexus and attempted a traffic stop when the vehicle sped up.

The car eventually stopped on the 1200 block of Preston and that's when two men ran out of the car.

Police arrested 35 year old Marty Forehand and 18 year old Daniel Smith.

Once arrested, officers learned that both men were *not wanted in relation to the homicide.

So officers went back to Motel 6 to try and locate the suspects wanted for murder.

Moments later they saw a F250 leave the parking lot.

Officers stopped the truck and a young man and woman jumped out and started running.

Officers chased down and captured 19-year-old Skyler Burghart and 18 year old Austin Byrum.

The two are now facing murder charges. Their bonds have been set at 100,000 dollars each.

Both are wanted for the killing of 69 year old James Spence who was found dead outside of his home in Canyon Lake back on the first.

The victim is the grandfather to murder suspect, Austin Byrum.
