Two Trapped in Vehicle After Accident on Ennis Joslin

Two women were recovering in a hospital Sunday night after the car they were riding in was T-boned by a pickup truck.

The accident occurred just after 7:30 p.m., at the 1700 block of Ennis Joslin. Investigators said the driver of a black truck was driving at a high rate of speed and slammed into a Volkswagen as it was trying to turn on Pharaoh Drive.

The force of the impact trapped the passenger inside the car. Neighbors nearby heard the accident, and said it sounded like lighting struck near their homes.

"It was really loud, like a big explosion," said Grace Flores, who witnessed the accident.

Investigators said that the driver of the truck did appear to be under the influence of alcohol. He was charged for speeding, and charges of intoxication assault are pending.
