Photographer Cleared for Arrest Photos

KIIITV News

GALVESTON, Texas (AP) - A jury has acquitted a former photographer for The Galveston County Daily News on charges that he interfered with police by refusing to stop taking pictures of an arrest.

Nick Adams took the photographs during Galveston's Mardi Gras celebration in 2007.

He says the jury's verdict, quote, "upholds the First Amendment."

Prosecutors argued that Adams had stepped within a perimeter officers had established for safety during the arrest.
