Dentist Charged with Taping People in Restroom

Richard Longoria

HOUSTON (AP) - A Houston dentist accused of videotaping people using the bathroom at his clinic is charged with improper photography.

Byron Weinle is charged with four felony counts for allegedly videotaping patients and employees secretly. Two women who work at the clinic tipped authorities after finding videotapes inside Weinle's office.

Improper photography is a state felony punishable by a maximum sentence of two years in state jail and a $10,000 fine for each conviction. In 2001, Texas banned sexually related photography and
videotaping of people who don't give their consent.

Weinle has been a licensed dentist in Texas since 1983.
