ROANOKE, Texas (AP) - A 17-year-old North Texas girl and two other teens jailed in South Dakota on suspicion of fatally stabbing the girl's mother are expected to return to Texas today with Roanoke detectives.
Early Sunday, 17-year-old Jennifer Bailey stopped to get gas at a station that was closed in Yankton, S.D., along with two other Texas teens, ages 14 and 16. Police discovered the car was her mother's and initially arrested the teens on curfew violations.
Yankton police issued murder warrants for all three of them after contacting Roanoke police officers, who went to Bailey's home and found her mother's body in an upstairs hallway. 43-year-old Susan Bailey died from multiple stab wounds to the neck.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported today that police are also investigating whether there is a connection between the suspects and a 15-year-old Fort Worth girl detained last week on suspicion of trying to rob her mother at knifepoint.
Police say the mother told them she awoke to find her daughter standing over her with a knife. The teen told police she had wanted to steal her mother's car to drive some friends to Canada.

it's news like this that make realize that I am very blessed...I have 3 wonderful kids...challenging at times but what kid isn't when they are in their teens...but for the most part they are the kind of kids every parent wishes for. So sad for the mother of the child. And now whether this 17 yr old child realized it or not she will grow up in a rapid rate without the one person that would be her biggest support throughout her life.
