Five Members of Family Killed in Wreck

Richard Longoria

NORMANGEE, Texas (AP) - Five members of a College Station family
were killed when a pickup truck slammed head-on into their truck.

The crash happened about 5 p.m. Thursday on the Old San Antonio
Road, six miles east of Normangee.

The Texas Department of Public Safety identifies the dead as
41-year-old Ismael Perez, 37-year-old Minerva Perez, 7-year-old
Jenette Perez, 5-year-old Celeste Perez and 3-year-old Josephine
Perez.

The DPS reports the Perezes' pickup truck was traveling east on
OSR when a pickup truck driven by 28-year-old Amy Wise of
Centerville drifted across the center of the road. Wise's truck
slammed head-on into the Perezes' truck.

Wise was taken to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Bryan
with non-life-threatening injuries.

The DPS says the adults in the Perezes' truck were wearing seat
belts, but the children weren't.
