New Orleans Crime Camera Trial

Richard Longoria

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Jury deliberations continue in a civil case
over the New Orleans crime camera program.

Trial began Sept. 14. Jurors got the case Tuesday.

The case stems from a lawsuit by Southern Electronics Supply
Inc. and Active Solutions LLC.

The companies worked on the city's initial camera program and
claim their system was misappropriated by former city technology
chief Greg Meffert and others connected to New Orleans technology
office. They also claim a conspiracy with Round Rock, Texas,-based
Dell Inc. to sell a system. They're seeking $3.6 billion in
punitive damages from Dell.

Defendants have denied the claims and said the companies' own
pricing and pace of installation cost them city work.

Jurors were asked to consider 37 questions and allegations. They
requested two exhibits from the court Wednesday.
