EL PASO, Texas (AP) - Retired ABC newsman Sam Donaldson has
announced a new multimedia journalism degree at his alma mater.
     
Donaldson was on hand Monday to help unveil the University of
Texas at El Paso communication department's multimedia bachelor of
arts degree plan.
     
Donaldson, 75, is an El Paso native who in 1955 graduated from
Texas Western College, now UTEP. The school in 2002 established the
Sam Donaldson Center for Communication Studies.
     
Donaldson in February retired from his full-time duties after
more than 40 years with ABC News.
