DALLAS (AP) - Dallas police say a pregnant woman lost her unborn child today after she was hit by an apparently stray gunshot as she slept in her apartment near downtown.

The woman lives near the downtown Farmers Market. The woman was taken to Baylor University Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the back, but her unborn child couldn't be saved.

The woman's identity hasn't been released.

Investigators suspect the shot came from one of the elevated expressways that pass near the apartment.
