FLINT, Texas (AP) - Two East Texas volunteer firefighters were killed today and two others were injured when the roof of a burning house collapsed on them in a small community near Tyler.

The Smith County Fire Marshal's office says the two men were part of the Noonday Volunteer Fire Department. Investigators say the department was fighting the pre-dawn house fire in the nearby community of Flint, about ten miles south of Tyler, when the roof fell in.

No identities, conditions nor other details are available.

Fire officials say the family that lived in the house escaped, but their two pet dogs died in the fire.
