U.S. Border Patrol Agent Hospitalized After Alice Accident

A U.S. Border Patrol agent from Freer was sent to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital by HALO Flight Thursday morning as the result of an accident near Alice.

Agent Javier Garcia was said to be heading to a call and was crossing over Highway 281 when he was hit by a truck. The 30-year old driver of that truck was taken by ambulance to Christus Spohn Alice complaining of chest pains and a cut to the head.

It is not clear how badly Garcia was hurt.
